The review
Introduction
HotDive puts all its dive centres and dive sites onto Google maps so you can enjoy the satellite images of crystal blue water while you read the review and look at the photos.
What can it do for you ?

Browse dive sites
All dive sites are placed on a map so you can zoom in and look at the satellite pictures while you are planning your holiday. When you register you can add your own favourite dive sites.
Dive centres
If you work for a dive centre then register and add information about your business. HotDive users will then see a little “dive shop hut” on the Google map where you are. There’s also a calendar to publicise your upcoming events.
Photo gallery
Upload and share your diving photos and link them direct to dive sites on the map. That means you can click from photo to map or map to photos.
Tri-lingual – Polish and English and Spanish
All pages are available in three languages. The forums and comments filter automatically but if you read both its easy to swap between them and get all the entries.
Is it easy to use ?
The tags along the top of the page make navigating around easy but there is a little niggle. Every tab is independent so when you choose (say) dive sites in Australia and then click dive centres tab you don’t get dive centres in Australia. It was also frustrating to have to add a new “dive area” and wait for the administrator to confirm it before we could add a dive site in a new area.
Does it travel ?
Everything on the web site is run with javascript so if you are on an old clanky machine with a slow dial up connection then wait until you get home.
Is your personal information secure ?
You need a working email address, user name and proper name to register to use the web site. Your personal information is secured under Polish / EU law and will not be shared with any third parties.
What do you agree to ?
The terms of use spell out the ethos of the web site. It is a collection of information about dive sites from people who know the sites. That makes it very personable. You also agree to be concise and watch your spelling in the forums.
Users
There are about 300 users at present, with nearly 200 dive sites and 150 dive centres listed.
We say
This is a very stylish dive site directory and absolutely the best integration with Google maps we have seen. The ethos of only accepting dive sites from people who know them will mean slow development of data but it will be accurate. There are a few tweaks they could do on the user interface but this is already streets ahead of web sites who attempt to build maps by web site scraping. We wish them many visitors into the future.

Faltan opcionesde edicion, o no estan muy claras, si te equivocas al subir una foto ya no hay vuelta atras. Todavia no he conseguido añadir un centro o un sitio de buceo y en los foros no hay nadie!!
