What can it do for you ?

Photos
Upload your photos to Flickr and then store your Flickr user name at Live Scuba. All your Flickr photos are shown on your Live Scuba page.
Videos
Upload your diving videos onto YouTube and then store your YouTube name at Live Scuba. All your YourTube videos are shown on your Live Scuba page.
Blog
Add simple text blog entries up to 1000 characters.
Add and review dive sites and dive stores
Mark your favourite dive sites and stores on the Google map. You must include a city and use a 3 character notation for country.
Add and review dive gear
At the time we visited the site there were only Scubapro items to review. We tried to add other items but couldn’t get it to work.
Is it easy to use ?
Mostly but we found the dive site tricky. You have to add a city to the location but how many dive sites are in or near cities? And you have to add the country as a 3 character code. A lot of (non geeky) people will have problems figuring out the codes. The codes are not translated into country names so when you search you have to use the country codes as well.
Does it travel ?
The site depends on javascript for any interaction and downloads a lot on every member page. If you want to update your blogs or pictures while away on your beach dive holiday you might have problems on older computers and slow connections.
Is your personal information secure ?
We could find no privacy policy on the web site. But you only need to supply an email address when you register. They do have an email newsletter. To get this you are asked to supply your physical name and address.
It is devised and managed by Kris of Submerged Solutions an IT company in Pataskala, Ohio, USA.What do you agree to ?
We could find no terms and conditions of use on the web site.
Users
There are about 100 users. The top activity users are shown on the front page.
We say
This totally bespoke web site aims to pull together some of the best online services so that divers can have them all on one page. A lot of divers publish on Flickr and YouTube so its great to be able to pull them together. But divers also have pictures and videos of other parts of their lives and these would also get pulled into Live Scuba inappropriately. An improvement could be to only pull in pictures tagged with “Live Scuba”.
Its obviously a labour of love from a passionate diver and web developer. Check in regularly to see how it grows.
